Hi there
Helping a friend as he wants to upgrade part of his pc.
At present he has a
5900x
16gb ram
4090
And plays games at 4k (90% usage is gaming )
Think he has a Corsair 850w PSU.
He wants to upgrade CPU, ram and mobo.
Budget is £700 max for those 3 components.
I see a bundle on over clockers for just under that.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, B650 TUF WIFI Motherboard, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz
£689.99
Is there a better combo out there ? Or cheaper ?
Thanks

Depending on the games he plays he might not actually see much benefit, might be fine just upgrading his shockingly tiny amount of RAM thats paired with a 5900X to 32GB.

If you can get him to read and fill out this template it would massively help our ability to help, and might even even save him a lot of money.

If he's going to upgrade he mite as well get a pcie5 b850motherboard rather than a pcie4 on the b650 .

No big performance difference but mite as well take the opportunity.

More or less what those parts cost.

You can get the 7800X3D a pretty big chunk cheaper and at 4K I'm not sure if the difference is worthwhile.

Keep in mind the difference between the CPUs (5900X and 7800X3D/9800X3D) when running fully multithreaded (thinking of the 10% usage that is not gaming) is not big.
