i have have a audio system for a car how can i power this system without putting it in the car i have a 2000w amp, 2x 1000w 6 by 9s, and one 500w sub i would like to try it out in the house anyway to power it up ?

You need a 12V DC supply. For low power things (like a head unit and a couple of speakers) you could use a PC power supply. Unfortunately, such a supply is not suitable for a hefty amp and sub - it would draw far too much current.

Buy a car battery and wire it up the way you would in a car? If it were to be a permanent home stereo you can even buy a mains charger for the car battery to keep it nice and topped up.
