trying to do a fresh install of winxp home but i cant get the system to boot from cd.

changed all the boot devices to cd but it just boots straight into windows.

have the option at boot to press F12 and choose boot device, press enter on cd rom and it still boots straight into windows.

running a gigabyte 965 ds3p mobo, anyone any ideas ?

cd is fine as its been checked on another system and is picked up to boot okay.

cheers.

already tried "ultimate boot cd" with the same effect :(.

if i load the winxp cd in the drive when windows is up it autoplays and goes into "windows install" mode fine, just can't seem to get it picked up on boot :(.

are you sure you have set it correct in bios? 1st boot device , leave everything disabled aparty from the CD / DVD drive

set 1st/2nd and 3rd boot device to cd.

not quite sure what u mean by leave everything disabled ?

It seems your install will not boot from the drive. Try replacing the drive with a spare. Can you boot into windows and try and run setup from there?

will see if i can get hold of another drive.

tried booting into windows, starts the setup then goes to reboot but just goes to a blank screen and does nothing for 10 minutes :(.
