Arsenal skipper Thierry Henry has ratcheted up the tension ahead of tomorrow's crunch north London derby by warning Tottenham to expect a "war".

The Gunners go into the game four points behind their bitter rivals in the battle for the all-important fourth place in the Premiership, knowing anything less than a win will almost certainly hand Champions League qualification to Martin Jol's side.

And Henry has insisted that despite the distraction of Arsenal's crucial Champions League semi final second leg against Villarreal next Wednesday, he and his team-mates are fully aware of the importance of tomorrow's game.

"It will be war at Highbury," he told the French newspaper L'Equipe. "An Arsenal v Tottenham match is a London derby, it's traditionally one of the more important games of the season.

"This time, the match will be even more important. Fourth place and qualification for next season's Champions League are at stake. We must win."

Henry's comments are likely to increase speculation that the 28-year-old will leave Arsenal in the summer if Arsene Wenger's side fail to qualify for Europe's premier competition next season.

The Frenchman has so far failed to sign an extension to his current contract, which expires at the end of next season, stating that he will review his position at the end of the current campaign.

Barcelona are known to be interested in securing his signature and the lure of playing alongside Ronaldinho, Eto'o et al at the Nou Camp would almost certainly prove too strong were the Gunners to miss out on the Champions League.

Spurs will be desperate to help make Henry's mind up by securing their first north London derby victory in 14 attempts tomorrow lunchtime, with stand-in skipper Robbie Keane urging his side to take confidence from a vibrant performance against Manchester United on Easter Monday, despite the fact that they lost the game 2-0.

"It certainly was a strong performance and we have to take a little bit of heart from it to take into Saturday's game," Keane told the club's official website. "Sometimes you need a bit of luck."

I fear that he'll turn Davenport inside out. :(

Still, I'm sure Aaron Lennon will do the same to whoever is standing in at left back for Arsenal. :D

That Flamini has done well, hes even better than the Man U defence trying to cover Heinz, Not bad for a midfielder.

Yeah, I'm a big fan.

You can tell he has really worked hard to learn the position and just lately his attacking is even improving too.

As far as I'm concerned Cashley Cole can go, Flamini and Clichly can battle and rotate at LB.

Flamini had his hands full but I don't think he had a bad game. 100% commitment and heart is what you get with him.

Henry's goal was simply class. It's the reason folks, he is the best player in the world.

Yup.. Henry's was amazing..

Not a fan of Davids playing on, he must have known something was up.

Something was up? Yeah, those players were getting up. You can even see one of them begin to stand and when he looks over seeing Tottenham have the ball, just falls back down again. They ran into eachother for gods sake, I doubt many players or fans would have bothered looking twice. As for Arsene Wenger, well, he's the disgrace - not the goal - unprofessional to say the least.

Do like watching arsenal for their quality although Im a pompey fan....but I though it was a joke wenger wingeing like that....it's not a written rule to kick the ball out, especially if they dont see it!

I honestly do not understand were anyone is coming from when they say Spurs should have kicked the ball out?

Two players went to sandwich Carrick, they missed and clattered into each other... the goons, why on earth should Carrick then kick the ball out?? It's just not something I'd even think of doing!

I haven't heard anyone agree with Wenger apart from Arsenal fans and the odd few anti-Spurs fans. All neutrals seem to agree with Spurs.

I remember when Arsenal did it to Sheffield and scored when they should have thrown it back to the otherside.

Arsenal made them replay the match.

Not a chance in hell Spurs would make such a gesture lol

Its not cheating but its not nice. Would be fitting if Spurs finish 4th and Arsenal win champions league. That would be funny (Unless you are my dad who is a Spurs fan) lol
