Not sure if anyone else is interested (or even aware) of this game. I did a search but it didn't find anything. I've just listened to episode 96 of The Crate and Crowbar where they waxed lyrical about it.

It is a detetective game by Sam Barlow (Silent Hill) where you only have access to a police database that stores hundreds of video clips from a series of interviews with a woman about the disappearance of her husband. By utilising the search facility of the database you can search for keywords and find all sections of the interviews that contain those words. Each video clip returned is aprroximately 5-10 seconds long. As you learn more about the mystery the deeper you will be able to search.

Release 24th June

There is no price on Steam yet, but you can preorder from the website for $4.99.

A Guardian article that probably describes it better than I :

I'll definitely pick it up, been playing games for nigh on 30 years and anything that tries something different is worth my time :)

My brother keeps going on about this to me. It sounds.. interesting and for the price, could be worth it. I'll think about buying it before I go bed.

Excellent game. Only took me three or four hours to 'finish', but what a intriguing story. Can't say much more without spoiling it though.

When you do finish, all the videos are stored as AVIs in the games install folder if you want to watch them in order.

I bought the game thanks to OP starting the thread. Yet to play it as busy but will return when I do. Definitely looks original and interesting, hence the purchase. Cheers OP.

Noticed this on steam earlier, looks really interesting and seems to be getting great reviews. Would be good to hear from a few others who've gone for it but definitely tempted, and seems like a fair price.

Ooh, just to add for anyone buying this. Just noticed its currently £3.49 at the humble store, rather than £4.24 on steam.

Edit - better still £3.29 at GoG, as long as you don't care about a steam key.

I have finished it as well. I loved it and was everything I hoped it was going to be. I would strongly suggest sitting down to play this for a couple of hours with a pen and paper beside you. The story will gradually unravel before you and as everyones thought process will be different the way the story unfolds will be unique to you.

Even after finishing the game I had questions and a few things I wasnt certain about - the game made me think about it long after I'd finished. I am now going through the videos in chronological order to complete the picture. It is a very clever game in my opinion. The writing is spot on.

This reminds me of a detective game I had many years ago, you basically got emailed messages and had fake websites to visit, videos to watch and images to examine.

Only played about 10-15 mins of it at the time, went back 6 months later and they had just switched it all off :(

It's also available on iOS, reviews seem to be highly positive. Like those 90s FMV games only with much better writing and acting this time.

Only a matter of time before we see a PC Atmosfear on Kickstarter!

I must have been unlucky in my playthrough. Somehow I reached the ending with my sixth or seventh database search. The game didn't end but I did reach what I imagine to be chronologically the last clip that wrapped everything up. Couldn't be bothered to backtrack after that.

I highly doubt you understand what happened after seven DB searches. The game isn't over until the credits roll!
