Pricing will be 100% confirmed tomorrow as they are now aware of the Samsung/AOC pricing and I've told them their monitor is essentially the same but £100 more, it needs to be ideally £499 like the others or much closer to that than it is now. Fingers crossed they sharpen their pencils and give us a better price. :)

See, why'd you have to tempt me by putting ****ing Smaug with his troll face on it. Bloody bonus coming through in two weeks and my birthday as well to justify spending it. Let's hope they do indeed sharpen their pencils a bit. Would be wonderful for photo editing.

One question: is it glossy or matte? And if the latter, is the AG coating fine enough that it doesn't make the extra res pointless?

Even if they sharpen there pencils I would probably buy this at £599 anyways

All I can think is how terrible everything is going to look at that resolution. Going to 1080p I suddenly hated every 480/720 video file I had.

Yeah, I can just about put up with 720P films but DVD quality looks horrible now. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one, I was quite disappointed when my flatmates insisted on buying a cheaper 720P TV for our living room rather than the nice 1080P one I wanted us to get! :( Student living shouldn't mean sacrificing on pixels!

At least I can always retreat to my room for 1080P gaming though :)

No such issues on the 4K porn

Is this another model on my list of 4K monitors who havent made vesa mounting a possibility?
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY, PUT A VESA MOUNT ON THE FLAMING THINGS!!
That Samsung model would have been perfect otherwise :(

Although the Dell one does look ideal, and i am after a 3rd 23" Dell. Will have to think about it, just wish there were options, particularly when its something as standard as vesa mounting.

-edit-
Damn 30hz on the Dell. Back to the drawing board.

- edit 2: the return of the idiot -
"The range of adjustment options include swivel, tilt, pivot and height adjustment. VESA mounting is supported as well."
OMG, just need £2.5K to pay for it and run stuff on it :D

This is the first wave, give it 12 months and prices will crash, for £500 you will also get a much better monitor, I would dearly like a 4k screen but I just cannot bear to pay 500 quid for a TN panel....

Except that these will be no where near good enough for colour accuracy, which is what a good IPS excels at.

Quite true. I keep hearing these are 8-bit TN panels are have good colours. Although we haven't had any indent proper reviews just yet to comment on the quality.
