I thought Battalion Wars was due in January, that was the only game I was looking forward to before I sold my Wii.

About time they annouced some new games. Looking like a good lineup, although I don't have a Wii I am interested to see how the new Mario Party turns out and also the olympics one as well, that could be really good fun.

will all of them be well made and have long gameplay, surely if they are all made by the same company this cannot be true
Currently only Zelda has longevity. That is exactly the problem I have with the Wii at the moment.
No games have a story.

this is not a fanboy comment but supposedly the reason for this would be that the console is aimed for a younger generation than those that play pc games or ps3 or xbox 360 for that matter

and that the kids dont want a real story they just wanna play the game for a few hours after school

That's not necessarily true.
All through the years, even when I was playing games as a kid they had longevity and stories.

I know a lot more people of an 'older' generation own Nintendo Wiis, most kids I know all want Xbox360's or Playstation 3's.

well my brother is 10 years old and he used to say constantly that he wanted a Wii, i told him that its just a small kiddie console and he would get bored of the games quickly, so i bought him a live subscription for my 360, he plays the 360 constantly and wants his own one now, he has never mentioned the Wii again, but the Wii is marketed for the younger generation definetely, this doesnt mean i cant go out and buy one, but as you have stated they have no real story or longetivity and the only reason being would be that either the games are being rushed or they are being solely aimed at kids.

mostly all of my brothers friends have a Wii, only 1 has a 360 and none have a ps3, the one that has a 360 only does so because his dad happens to work for a games company and gets games for free

It's certainly based more at social people or parties more than kids. I have one friend and she has a "Wii Wednesday" every week where she gets a group of friends round and they play 4-player tennis etc.. They love it.

I know the Wii is very in demand, but everyone I know personally prefer the other consoles after they have purchased one. It's a potentially brilliant console and technically the only real next-generation one of the lot, but for games it is really beaten by the Xbox360 and sadly, even by the PS3 which has only been out a fraction of the time.

im sad to say ive never actually played one but own a ps3 and a 360, also i think its a bit too late now, couldnt justify spending more money on another console, although it is good for a social experience, but for instance you couldnt have you friend play the wii with her friends everyday because they would get bored so quick after a few days they would never touch it again, i find this with most games, gears of war, completed it once couldnt be bothered playing through harder levels, its just more of the same thing.
crackdown was an amazing game but i managed to complete it in 3-4 days and will probably never play it again, the list goes on and on, we need games with much more playability, like halo multiplayer, resistance multiplayer, grand theft auto single player

the only one of them i would call a 'big gun' is Brawl, the rest we have seen before too many times and its all just boring now, cant they think of something else other than mario?

Mario and Pokemon is the only things keeping Nintendo alive :)

You're right... although maybe that's because the online aspect is only just happening now, so (same room) multiplayer was all that was available.

The 360 definitely spanks all other nextgen consoles in terms of availability of games (quantity, not necessarily quality), but I'm not sure I'd agree that the PS3's is any better than the Wii's. I'd say that they're pretty comparable... and that's not really a good thing for either of them.
