I thought you were ok with computers andy, maybe it's an AMD thing?

Try and take it to the purple shirt place to sort it out for you as you keep having the worst of luck.

snide comments aside, it was the last straw to be honest, every release of new drivers from the red team just makes things worse

as soon as we are in a new tax year I'll be swapping out the AMD card for an Nvidia one... saving £100 wasn't worth this amount of hassle

this was a clean install of windows on a brand new machine with beta 5 drivers what are you supposed to do with AMD drivers? reinstall windows every time you want to install a new set?

anyone else running windows 8 and having issues with AMD drivers?

snide comments aside

Nothing new for you there then.

As you clearly favour Nvidia, it doesn't help by the way you post in these threads.

I sympathize with your problems, but there are ways on how to go about it, noticed similar tones in regards to beta driver threads since you got your rig, I don't notice similar tones from others in the Nvidia driver threads having problems, I haven't seen you post anything aggressive towards Nvidia anywhere, why bring them here?

It's coming across a bit 'herp derp' and all that if you know what I mean. :)

These are beta drivers remember, did you use the 13.1's?

Was there a reason for changing?

Your system admittedly is in the list of supported hardware, but personally on a laptop, I would be waiting for officials as I don't imagine the emphasis is on mobile gaming in general regarding it being a rebranded last gen gpu-food for thought.

because I haven't had any problems with Nvidia drivers, I keep trying the latest drivers from AMD in the hope that I can actually use my machine for it's intended purpose - gaming

13.1's don't work in the game I want to play, none of the 13.2's do either, so basically I have a very expensive paper weight sat waiting for either AMD to release drivers that actually work, or for me to be bothered to buy a new graphics card

and what about my card is a rebranded last gen GPU exactly? the 2 AMD cards I have are both GCN 7*** series cards, and neither of them will play the game I want where as I know for a fact that the equivalent Nvidia card plays them fine :D

anyway, whilst it may have been tinged with a certain amount of acrimony, my original post in this thread was more of a warning for other users that these latest beta drivers might cause some users issues... I'm not usually one of the first to try the latest betas, I usually wait a few days and see what other people have to say about them before updating... but in this case, as crysis 3 was on the list of updates and fixes, I was hoping it might include some fixes for CryEngine 3 games in general, and never having had a beta driver totally lock me out of my PC before without having to sort out a repair disk

but then since you decided to ride me about it it's gone rapidly down hill from there :D

edit; sorry, just re-read my first post, there was no acrimony there, just a statement of fact, this thread has only turned in to AMD bashing on my part as a direct result of you getting all defensive about it :D

I don't follow mobile gpu's very much, but I was under the impression that all 7 series mobile gpu's were rebranded 6 series.

Cards?

Game?

You aren't making it very easy tbph, maybe someone can help, I honestly don't think your looking for help though.:(
