My pc was fine yesterday, now it will only boot in safemode..

If i try to boot normally it loads 2 bars on the windows loading screen then just goes blank.

Ive tried everything within my knowledge! took all usb's out, took all components out, gpu/ram etc, tried the ram in differnt slots, tried system restore (in safe mode) and still no joy.

Any help or suggestions would be more then welcome!!! HELP!

Try installing a second copy of windows, best thing is to get a spare harddisk if you have one and put that in, install a fresh copy on it and see if it all works. That will tell you if its a hardware or software problem.

Thats a shame.
Might as well try running memtest, at lest that will rule out ram.
It might be possible to partition your current harddisk to install a 2nd copy of windows, but you would still need a windows disk.

Have you checked all the basic stuff, like all the fans are spinning freely, no dust build-ups etc?

Try uninstalling the graphics drivers from safemode, also try a diskcheck if you can do that from safemode.

From within safemode, try checking the event logs. Go to ctrl panel/admin tools/event viewer and click on system. See if theres anything suspicious looking in there, i'm thinking this could be a dodgy driver thats failing to start or something.

Can you run sp2004 from safemode? If so run that and check that the system is stable.

yeah that sounds like it could well be the graphics card drivers have been corrupted, have had that problem before - just black screen after the xp bars and nothing afterwards.

Brilliant. :)
I had a nasty feeling it would turn out to be a weird hardware issue.
