If you want a cheapish runabout, a small petrol supermini is the way to go, especially if you have another car to use for longer journeys. Citreon C1, Toyota aygo etc. You'll get diesel style economy without the purchasing costs and cheaper fuel.
I just want to get to work....to earn money (and be taxed) and then pay off my car tax/road taxes and have some moneys left to buy food and goodies, but the government is milking the motorists as a source of income to only go and chuck £800million to a foreign country!?
