Heroes & Might & magic III Multiplayer... can't get it to work!

Aghh I know this is ana ncient game but me and a mate used to play it constantly when we were flatmates and we are planning a revival... only problem is we can't get multiplayer to work for love nor money. The only feasible way of connecting over the internet that I can see with my limited knowledge of this sort of thing is by I.P. but when I try and host a game that way he can't find me using the game browser.

ANy tips or is this game such a dinosaur that our plight is hopeless? *sobs*

Can you use gamespy arcade?

Me and my bro still play this game. The 5th installment is out soon

Hope it's better than that 4th.

Hmm havent tried gamespy, when I tried to install it NOD32 detected an adware trojan so I thought "screw that" and scrapped it. Have you had it working on there?

Agree with you though, the IVth game was a bit of a departure from the trraditional format, we didnt really get that into it. The Vth looks sweet though.

Have you patched it up? I can remeber trying to get this to play over the net and the patches helped. Your best bet is to use gamespy or direct link (ie ip adress) have to remeber to allow it in your firewall.
