I was trying to help a friend sort out their computer.
It seems HP have a unique way of messing up their computers so the data can't be recovered.
The boot disk on their computer won't start properly and you can press f11 and reset the computer to how it came but lose all the data. However you can't recover the data easily.
They've changed the BIOS so you can't change the boot sequence.
If you unplug the disk and plug into another computer it has several partitions and they are all unreadably. This seems to be a standard HP way of doing things.
Is there a boot disk or USB boot software so you can make a back up of files on the disk ?
