Hey all :) // Help with a build..

Just on the delay front the case you want isn't in stock yet either :)

True... Looks like I might be waiting then, I suppose I'm not in a HUGE rush, so as long as I'm good to go, I'll order and wait for the stock.. will it just keep everything until it's all good to come in one delivery??

At stock it's going toe to toe with the 661 :) looks like it beats it more often than not though.

Damn I'm getting confused, this is not normally that late for me but I'm feeling it tonight :p

So we're saying that the 750 & 661, at stocks speeds, will show the 750 coming out in front in most situations..

Infact now you've said that, other then the fact the PRO has 3x PCIe 2.0 x16 Slots rather then 2, are there any other significant differences that will effect me?

I think for that sake its worth getting the cheaper one then, which means if you really wanna save a bit extra money you might as well get the 750w psu, as that can still easily take a crossfire setup (if you ever even get that far which I don't think you will as this is definitely powerful enough).

Yea if you order and somethings not in they wait and send it all at once.

That case is due on the 27th so not long to wait :)

Would you not suggest the Club 3D which has the better spec and is cheapest??

Ok cool :)

I've swapped out for the standard version, kept the 850watt as it's only £5 more :)

@reiyushin is that 'THE' recommended cooler at the mo? Looks ok..

Edit: beat me to the top bit :p

You can give the 750chip the same speed as the 661

But you will never give the 661 the 4Mb extra the 750 has.

I have the same cooler. Takes my Q9550 at 3ghz and it doesn't really ever get close to overheating.

Worth using for the moment, as like Stulid says you can OC the 750 to the same speeds as the 661 which I reckon you could get using the Corsair H50 cooler

Which is exactly why I'm now thinking that because I've saved a few pounds here and there it wouldn't harm going for the H50??

I'm also actually gonna leave the optical drive out, I will be able to sort something else out for that..

With an H50 you can expect to go up to 4.0Ghz which is serious performance territory.

Stock cooler will get you 3Ghz happily (maybe more but can't vouch for it)

That Freezer pro will get you ~3.4Ghz on the i5.

Are you also settled on that case? Plenty cheaper that can get the job done, and with money saved you can splash out on the H50, and get a couple of extra case fans to get it all complete.

I might just bite the bullet then and go for the H50 - that way, even if I don't go for a big OC I know I'm covered what ever the conditions :)

I'm just gonna double check I won't have mounting issues with the 80mm fan going on the back which as stock should be 120mm

I suppose I'm moderately picky when it comes to looks, and I think it looks pretty stylish, which I am keen on. It will be going back and forward to various lans throughout it's life, so needs to look fairly good :p

Rear fan on that case (where the H50 will mount) is 120mm so you'll have no issues :)
