hey guys, cut it short i want a new graphics Card, i basicly have an 8800GTS 320 and looking for something that will get me a bit more FPS so i was looking at the 9800GTX 512's would this be a good upgrade do you think or should i wait?
im running it on a 22" Samsung 226BW and looking to get another so i kind of need a better graphics card...:D

Personaly I would wait as there are new graphics cards comming from Nvidia and ATI in a few weeks.

Theres one of these threads everyday! lol .... and as always: wait a few weeks for the newer cards.

i just love how when i post something here looking for an answer it always ends up in a ridiculous fight like "omg search!" tis quite amusing.

yeah when i was waiting for the 8800GT to come out i instead got a GTS because i couldnt be bothered waiting and there's always something new out and theres a big chance that when the new ones come out, they wont be around the 210 mark....

I think people are just getting annoyed that there are obviously threads on the first page, and no one is reading them. It don't bother me though honestly.

The ATI range will probably be a cheaper than that anyways, apart from the x2 range. The 4870 should hopefuly be around 200 or so, and will beat the GTS performance.

My experience:-

Moved from a 640mb GTS to a 512mbGT to 512GT sli and lastly to a 512mb GTX (coupla weeks ago).

The move to the GT was a good 'un , Sli was , for me ,a waste of time and the move to the GTX - well I was looking to game at 1920x1200 without overclocking and the GT could not cope whereas the GTX can (at least some of the time).

However could have got very nearly same performance with

and saved £50+

Not recomending any change as the new cards are due any day BUT if you can't wait would suggest that the OcUk card (or something similar) is the one to go for
