the last lot i case mods from the akasa website..

please give me sugestions on changes, i already spent 2.8k on it and have about another grand to go.

Thankies, fresh ^______^

see, i went for it due to the possability of the HD's being moved to the top and the spare external drive space being able to be converted to fan space if needed.

what would u suggest? if its gonna be good, its got to have a window :P

Might be worth putting some of the other £1000 into speakers etc? Im guessing this is an insurance job though so u need to spend as much as possible on bits in the box? :)

Id agree on case - the Antec P180 or akasa eclipse cases are the ones most likely to be recommended on here.

... see, now this is where i hang my head high and grin like a proud father :D

i have HD595 headphones, used to have a 300 squid logitech 2.1 speaker set, loved it, got the headphones for a bday pressie from a chum, and never gone back to speakers, i love headphones.

AHHHH get rid of that PSU NOW!

Seriously mate, that psu sucks.

Enermax 620W Liberty or Seasonic S12 600W will do the job perfectly.

The case is not my favourite, get the Lian Li V1000+ or Akasa Eclipse 62.

hamina, tell you what, ill keep the psu for a while, see how it performes and come back with feedback :D then you can decide lol, and i cnt see why everyone hates the case :( its lush, but like i said, suggestions wanted lol

btw, anyone got any screenies of oblivion being played with sli 7900 XXX's?

Would he not be better with a Tagan capable of switching between single and dual rails? Those 7900GTX's will need a fair bit of juice and having the option of switching to single rail might be useful.

Oblivion currently seems to have issues with Nvidia cards - SLI 7900 GTX's may well run it fairly well but a pair of 1900XT's in crossfire would run it with everything turned on, the "cheat" driver that lets HDR and AA be turned on at the same time would make it nothing short of gorgeous :)

This will likely be fixed as it is a bug not that the X1900 series perform better.

If its an insurance job get a single X1900XT-X and 2x 7900GTX - I doubt the form checker at the insurance company will have much idea as its a bit too specialist. Stick the X1900XT for now while playing lots of oblivion, once they get the drivers fixed sell it and put the 7900GTX sli in and weep at the graphics :)

Note: This is not a fanboy statement, for anything else id be happy to say either Nvidia or ATI. As oblivion was mentioned this was a specific answer 7900GTX vs X1900XT-X is otherwise a pretty even punch-up :)

yea, i was going to have dual x1900's, but.... im a Nvidia fan <3 em for what they are, always will do, always have, and i still refuse to go to ati, but it seems i might have to sometime in the near future

Looks good. I actually like that case but i would mod the side so it is just clear without the metel bits running through it.

The FSP epison 700w PSU is pretty good, had it in my new Xfire system for a couple of weeks now and had no problems so far.

With regards to 7800GTX's vs X1900XT's it really doesnt matter as performance wise they are pretty much exactly the same. Some games will run better then one card then the other but overall there is little to pick between them (though ATI is better of course :P ). I picked ATI just becuase it could rendor HDR with AA enabled (and i got a good bundle deal on 2 cards :) ).

i hate my office work, they disable internet all the time, then re able it only from 12:30 - 2pm... and my comp at home is in bits, i need to pick up a cheap little 400wpsu tonight, mine finnaly died out :(

Nothing wrong with that case or the psu. I have both of them. I have the aluminium armour and it looks good, has loads of room inside to work in, has excellent airflow. It is very big though.

The psu is excellent. I have had mine for a year now with no problems at all. Mine is also silent. People will come on here and say it is in no way silent but mine is very silent. It has temperature controlled fans which might be some of the problems with other peoples cases but in the armour the airflow is very good and the psu sits on it's side at the top in between two 92mm fans so heat is not a problem and it runs silently.

what are you gonna get monitor wise?

I have a 30" Dell LCD that im going to order when i get the full build done, but atm, i have a 21" CRT, and i refused to go to LCD cos i had a very bad experiance with my first one a couple of yuears ago, but my mate got the 30" dell and i was shocked at its performance and clear picture, so im gonna get it, a bit pricey, but worth it i think.
