Hi guys, just a quick query. My brothers machine is currently using a powercolor x800 bravo (that for some reason doesnt default clock properly so I had to atitool set it to the correct memory speeds).
I also have a 7300GT (the much faster DDR3 version, not the slow DDR2 version). Now, I know 3dmark doesnt give a true representative of speed, so I havent looked at that, but does anyone know which is the faster card? The 7300GT DDR (Galaxy version is the one I have) is meant to be faster than a stock 7600GS.

Im guessing they're (x800bravo and 7300GT) about equal, but I wanted to ask :)

Trust me I have, from reviews and experience that particular 7300GT IS faster than any reference 7600GS.
It's not a reference 7300GT with 350 or 400/333 clocks I'm talking about, but the Galaxy, Zalman fanned, DDR3 based, 500/700 card, which is a lot faster, thats why Im interested in how it compares against the x800, as it might be worth the swap if its the same speed/faster, but has SM3 for newer games :)

For example

Blue is the Galaxy DDR3 7300GT, Red is the Galaxy 7600GS and green is a reference 7600GS

I know the standard 7300GT is slower than the 7600GS, but thats not the card Im talking about ;)

You guys seem to be pretty much confirming that they're about the same speed (bar some here or there). I'll have a think on it, but if there's not much in it, I'll see if my brother decides to get any games that need SM3, if not, I'll leave it out. Selling the card isnt really an option as I dont want to spend on my brother, he's only got a 1024x768 screen anyway, and one of the cards is my backup/interim card in case of any need in the future, which is what the 7300GT is now.

As it's got a zalman on it, Im also considering using it for a HTPC.
