Yesterday i went to see the football which is a 40mile drive away. As the E39 likes to break its cooling system i always keep a keen eye on the temperature.
Temperature stayed in the centre all the way; i was running on fumes (got cashback waiting on credit card so wanted to fill up at shell near destination) so i was keeping speed to between 55 and 60mph for maximum fuel economy.
when i got to the destination i noticed coolant leaking from the car i feared the worst and opened the bonnet but it looked to be a false alarm; the expansion tank cover was loose and coolant was coming from there so i tightened it up and left it to cool down.
After the game i bought some ready mixed coolant from ASDA and refilled (only needed half a litre) but checked the oil filer cap to see the dreaded mayo
After a long journey couldent but condensation build up could it? car rarely gets used for more than 3 mile trips normally so doesent get above 1/3 around the temp guage.
