HH3 / GigE Port Question .........

I've just got an 8 port gigabit switch and just tried to connect it up; my plan was

Code:

Port 1 (100) Port 2 (100) Port 3 (100) [B][COLOR="Yellow"]Port 4 / GigE (1000)[/COLOR][/B] 
    o               o                o                  [COLOR="Red"]o[/COLOR] 
                                                        [COLOR="red"]I[/COLOR]
                                               [B] [COLOR="Yellow"]8 Port Switch (1000)[/COLOR][/B]
                                                               
                                                     1 - HH3 In
                                                     2 - Spare
                                                     3 - Spare
                                                     4 - PC
                                                     5 - NAS
                                                     6 - Printer
                                                     7 - Works Laptop Dock
                                                     8 - Power Line Adapters

But this will only work if im connected into one of the 10/100 Ports on the BT HH3 (1,2 or 3) as soon as I try and connect into the Gigabit Port (GigE Port 4) it doesn't work (no light up on the switch)

First question is will using a 10/100 port to the switch make any difference as my incoming speed is ~45 meg

Second is any ideas why this doesn't work (faulty HH3 ?)

No difference at all.

No obvious reason. Have you tried a different cable?

Thanks - didn't think so

and yes, three cables, all work in ports 1,2 and 3 but not Port 4 the GigE port :S

A quick search finds other people with the same problem. Supposedly fixed on the later revisions.

yeah, ive done some searching around - mines the "Type A"
