Looking to improve WiFi signal throughout the house/ 2 story with many devices/phones/iPads etc and the home hub5 WiFi is not the best- router in bottom corner of home and can’t be moved.
Would it be best for WiFi extenders or a couple of these BT disk things to get better coverage

In my personal order of preference:

  • Run ethernet cables from the homehub to central high location(s) and add access points on the end of the cables
  • Introduce a mesh wifi system. The BT discs are an example of this.
I struggle to recommend the next two but will continue the list.
  • Add powerline adapters where your homehub is and in deadspots and add access points there or have powerline adapters with wifi access points built in
  • Add wifi extenders half way between the homehub and the deadspots to add range
The last two have a strong possibility of being rubbish, but some people have success. You may be able to do the wifi extender thing with existing old routers you have if you're handy with networks so can be the cheapest. Powerline sometimes can be the same price as a simple mesh system so I really struggle to recommend it but I'd prefer it to wifi extenders. A mesh system can be had for as little as £100 and produce decent results as long as you're not expecting to push gigabytes around your network on it. But always, always run a proper ethernet cable if it is at all possible. You'll get the most robust and highest performing solution.
