Hi guys, I just signed up to ask a question about the MSI ATI 6970 Lightning.

Is that card too big for an ANTEC 300? I have a feeling it is and wanted to check here first :)

If it is, would the BitFenix Shinobi have enough room for one?

Thanks

:)

no mate it won't fit in the antec 300

the card is 310mm long

the antec 300 has a space for 279mm

the shinobi can take 320mm (cutting it close but should fit)

Just used google to find that out only took a few minutes

IIRC, if you take the HDD cage out of the 300, it will fit.

If you haven't already bought a case, then go for a shinobi (maybe a raven or an elysium?. If you have already got the 300, then buy the card and try t fit it in by taking a HDD bay out. Otherwise, just buy a new case!

It's massive.

VS stock 6970

VS GTX 470 with Zalman.

Mind you, it's more than worth making room for. It's very very quiet and goes like a bat out of hell. 960mhz 1.25v

I did get it stable at 1030 @ 1.35v but the card was then throttling. There is a switch to disable the heat throttle but I wasn't comfortable with that. It loves Crysis 2 with the extreme textures and DX11, though :D

I'd be careful with the Raven. The 460 2win just about crams in and I think (though don't quote me) the R6970L is bigger.
