Hi everyone. Looks like loads of good advice on these boards. Signed up a while ago but this is my first post. Looking for info on the following specs.

Casecom LG-7760 Black/Silver Trim Mid-Tower Gaming Case - With 350W PSU
Gigabyte Intel SKT775 965P-DS3
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.86ghz Socket 775 FSB800 2MB Cache
Kingston Valueram 2Gb 667MHz DDR2 Non Ecc
Seagate 7200.9 120gb Sataii 7200rpm 8mb Cache
XFX GeForce 6500 64MB DDR TurboCache
Pioneer DVR-111DBK 16x DVD±RW
Samsung SyncMaster SM710N 17"

I'm not looking for an uber gaming rig. Just something very reliable and future proof.

Any thoughts or alterations you would make? Budget is around £700 all in.

Id get a different case, and get a decent psu, the one that comes with the case wont be much good.

Also that card wont be able to handle aero, nevermind any games.

Otherwise good spec, especially the mobo and cpu, hope youl be clocking it :)

Looks like a pre-built rig, as they have skimped on the PSU as usual!

PSU - Potentially Naff. A bad PSU could take your whole rig out if it blows.
Mobo - DS3 is good.
CPU - E4300, good choice. Make sure you get a decent Heatsink to clock it with. The stock is noisy apparently.
Memory - 2GB is good, I'd go for PC6400 if you can afford it.
HD - a bit small, but good speed and make. 250GB is the minimum I'd build a PC with these days.
GFX - They have been really tight here. I'd go with an x1950 Pro or a 7600 GT.
DVD - First class DVD Writer there
TFT - Don't know monitors, sorry.

Hope that helps, apologies if I was harsh.

as above different psu needed , forget the gfx card need to look at 7600GT or something.
Also consider 19" monitor if possible - you will regret getting a 17" monitor.

Welcome to the forums, something like this ought to do, it is within the budget and uses good quality parts. I've included an aftermarket CPU cooler so it is easier to overclock. :)

Agreed.

They both have a native/max resolution of 1280 x 1024 - not much difference IMHO...

I went from a 17 to a 19 and ive never looked back, 19 is so much better

Hope your not going to play games with that, it will be slide show with a 7300 GS. The 7300 GT GDDR3 (important that last bit) or a 7600 GT would be much better.
