hi everyone i got a few questions

will a Ultra X3 1600 Watt PSU fit into a Thermaltake VI90001N2Z Spedo Case also i need to get an adaptor for the PSU so it can fit into a english Plug socket (3pin)

Just buy a new lead, they're all standard these days. Just make sure it has a 10A or 13A fuse if you really intend to draw anything near 1000w (1200w at the wall).

And like the above poster said, why do you need so much power? That thing could easily run 4 or 5 PCs...

edit: The sweet spot for efficiency for a PC PSU is around 50% of max load btw.

It should fit as that case is quite big, but that PSU is a bad choice. Ultras are not very good and I'm sure you don't need 1600w either. Even a tri-sli watercooled i7 system will only need around 1kw.

What he said. Id like to see the system that pulls 1.6kw!

Wattage aside, as far as dimensions go it is a bit on the long side. 9.5" or 240mm. That's quite big, but I've not had the case so no idea whether it would fit.

hey MrMunch!
If you are still making the shopping list for your original build (2 x GTX280's) i know i said make sure you have plenty of power, but 1600w! jeez man!
There are some really switched on guy's on these forums, give em' an idea of your build for some advice on PSU required.
c u in-game soon m8.

i need to run 2x ati 4870x2
2x hdd
few other bits and bobs

will 1200watts be ok and run smooth

i was only looking at a 1600 watter because i saw a sweet deal lol

To be honest you'd be better off getting a high quality PSU with half the wattage. Build/Component quality is much more important on PSU's unless you want to risk damaging components.

Yeah thats definitely overkill o_O Can't see you needing more than 1000w but get a 1200w if you really feel paranoid about it :P

thx every one for ya help

so will a Thermaltake ToughPower 1200W Modular Power Supply
fit into a Thermaltake VI90001N2Z Spedo Case

this is the only thing stopping me from building my pc

Okay I might be making a bit TOO big of an assumption here.. but I'd be confident in presuming a Thermaltake PSU will fit in a Thermaltake case. :)

If they dont its just stupid by the manufacturer.. lol

Agree with MooMoo, it should fit just fine otherwise something is pretty off! Email Thermaltake if you are really concerned or have a look at the dimensions on their website but I doubt it'll be a problem
