Hi-Fi Setup, what do I need?

Basically I've decided I want to get cheap but reasonable Hi-Fi sound.

Whilst browsing ebay for some other things, I got some Mission 761i speakers locally:

Am I right in thinking I'll need an amp, I was looking at this:

And what cables would I need to hook it up?


I have experience in headphones, mp3, pc speakers, sound cards etc...

BUT, no proper Hi-Fi as of yet. So fill me in with what I need, and I'm gonna go look for the most bargainacious options

Ohh balls, hadn't noticed there was Hi-Fi forum! Worth me reposting this there?

Budget not sure, depends what else I need. I was hoping the amplifier in the ebay link would be it If it is, then say max £50.

As you can see, this was a bit of a spur of the moment thing

And are the speakers I've bought decent, worth much?

Your speakers are good, the amp in the link is good too, but you might wanna think about £40 for it. Hi Fi is trial and error, best to listen to the gear first, if you can. Trust your ears.

Ok, I'll keep my eye on that amp then. I don't really have other Hi-Fi gear which is accessible to me. What else would I need, which type of speaker cables?
