Absolutely perfect for you and saves you £65 towards the new gpu.

id get something more like this, for gaming it will blow the 5770 out the water and most other systems for that matter.

i included a blu ray drive because you said it would be one of the uses, the stock i5 2400 will go up against 1156 i7's so its a no brainer at the price it goes for.

also specced a 480, you can easily fit it in the budget and is twice as fast as the 5770, heat shouldnt be an issue as you say the case you have is huge, it should have good air flow.

i5 2400 vs i7 870, 940, 950

5770 vs gtx480

cool, just take the bd drive out, are you wanting to overclock? if not then stick with the 2400 and a h67 board, money is better spent on a better gpu and possibly an ssd too?

this is just over budget..

Guys he said he wanted to save money for a enw gpu later and in my opinion that is the better to do so he won't have to sacrifice a mobo cpu cooler or better cpu.

You get free delivery so it would be just over budget for you but to him it will be more expensive as he has to pay for delivery.

Guys he said he wanted to save money for a enw gpu later and in my opinion that is the better to do so he won't have to sacrifice a mobo cpu cooler or better cpu.

thats fair enough, but like i said, if he doesnt intend on overclocking then the build i specced would be better, i have a 2400, 8gb ram 64gb ssd and have used with a 5970, i dont need to overclock my cpu as its not a bottleneck in any game i play.

what gpu would be best to save up for in your opinion? over a gtx 480, 560, 6950 right now?

Why get a D14 when a H50 does the job and the money saved can be used to get a better case?

(edit: searching around I think D14=H50. I'd still go for the H50 just to save space, and plus with the case you linked to I doubt a D14 will fit inside.)

erm i might overclock in the near future but for the time being i am gnna stick with stock outputs, am not that interested in SSDs since they are quite expensive, i've also been told that they can degrade over time.

Yh currently my BD drive is inside a OEM pc atm but when i start i will take out the BD and stick it in my new case.

hey anuraj

Thanks so much for replying, when i was first thinking of building my rig, i was considering the Sandbridge line of cpu, but then i read that the SandyBridge CPU had a limitation which caused problems with SATA so, i drifted away and went back to thinking of buying an i7

Thanks for listing some parts for me, i shall be researching some more on this.

haha

Thanks Again

Can you not just plug your hdd and optical drives into the 6gb/s sata ports and avoid the problem altogether? If so I dont see what the big deal is for custom builders...

it isnt a big deal, it affects 5% of boards and even if your in that 5% port 0 and 1 are unaffected anyway, besides even if you did buy, youd get a shiny new board in a few months if anything did happen.

right so i have decidied to go for the SandBridge since normal x58 are expensive, one question how would i know if a SATA port has degraded (IF i my board falls in that 5%).

Aslo would these mobo fit into my case. if u dont what my case looks like, its on the first page.

yeh it will fit that case, you will know because the hdd that is connected will fail, it doesnt happen instantly, it degrades, but if it does the board will be replaced for free anyway.
