Hi guys,
recently I have been poking my nose in here and I have been impressed by the knowledge and helpfulness of you guys, so I thought maybe you could help me with a (hopefully) easy spec?
I am looking to buy a new case and PSU and the range of options leaves me somewhat at a loss! What I mainly want from it is a nice cool case that runs reasonably quiet. I wont be putting much in it, maybe 2 HDs max and definitely no SLI or crossfire. Im not much interested in something flashy, but I dont object to anything with a window or such. It will sit under my desk so aesthetics are not really important to me.
I often have to run my PC for long periods of time (around 72 hours) at full CPU usage, for example when I do numerical calculations and this means it must be cool enough to be stable that long (could be a problem I live in an attic) and also quiet (as I sleep around 4 feet from my PC).
I would look to spend from £100 to £150 pounds on the case and PSU combined, so if anybody has any recommendations that would be great, and thankyou very much in advance!

So many replies already :) .
The ambient temps in my place have been known to get up to over 30c in the summer  . This is why I am a little concerned about cooling! I was thinking about speed controlled 120mm fans as then I could turn them down if they didnt need their full capacity i.e. in the winter

Well I am planning to sell my entire box soon, therefore in the long term this will be a Conroe box. I am planning to get a e6600, possibly running a little over stock but not a great deal higher. Apart from that probably 2 HDs, one optical and the first mid/high end graphics card that Nvidia put out with DX10 support (Im not a fanboy I just like their linux drivers).

Thanks guys this is all very helpful.
I have been looking at the PC7+ but it seems that the exhaust fan is only 80mm? Doesn't that mean that the volume and cfm are significantly worse? Seems to be the only bad thing I can see about it.

Edit: Actually using google it seems that the rear fan is 120mm, whereabouts in the case is this 80mm fan and is it really necessary?

My bedroom only does that under very special circumstances ;)
:o ;)
Thanks very much for the advice! The consensus seems to be either Tagan or Seasonic. Is there really anything to choose between the two or are they more or less on a par?
What would be the positive qualities of the PC7+ as compared to those antec cases?

They are around the same.

The PC7+II is 120mm front and back, with a 80mm top blowhole which is hardly ever needed.
Yes but it seems OcUK are selling the first version :( the picture in the catalogue is certainly of the first one (if I have the correct idea of what you mean).

Thanks that is very reassuring!
So a good choice would be:
PC7+
Tagan 530w modular
2 akasa ambers
That is about exactly my budget so if that seems good to you guys I will probably go ahead and order it all!
