Right here goes.

Sunday night watched a movie on the pc, all was fine.

Tried to turn it on about 11 last night and nothing, won't switch on.

I tested th the psu with a psu jumper to see if that was working, it is.
I looked inside the pc and the mobo lights are all on, it's a z68 asus gene, so power switch and reset switch are all lit up. I tried to start the pc from these mobo switches also and no joy!

Anyone got any suggestions what else I can try to do?

At the moment it looks like stripping down my loop to test each individual component

At first I thought have I fried something with a leak from my loop, but no leaks and full res so I've ruled that out.

The pc has been running for we'll over 6 months. I've got a feeling at the pit of me stomach it's the motherboard dunno why but I do.

Any help muchly appreciated

Hmm is a bit odd!

First thing like you would have gone with PSU but if youve ruled that out then start pulling parts, remove RAM and unplug GFX, HDD and anything else.

See if you can get it to atleast power on with just basic components being Mobo + Cpu. If that doesn't result in atleast a beep and cpu fan spinning then Id firstly just clarify the psu by plugging into another computer.. if still fine,, its likely mobo.

If it does power then start slowly adding individual components 1 at a time until it reoccurs.

Agree 100% with the above testing methods, I'd be inclined to try a quick CMOS reset first though - might sort your problems out without the need for pulling parts.

If the motherboard lights are on, could it be the graphics card? Perhaps it has started but just no output to your monitor?
Remove graphics card and try your onboard video?

I always go through the same checks every time.

Take one RAM module out and try it with the other one, then viceversa until all RAM modules have been checked.
Ensure that the GPU is seated correctly.
Remove the GPU and try another/onboard.
Check whether the case isn't shorting the motherboard.
Try another Power Supply with just one RAM module and no GPU.

If that doesn't work RMA it.

Forgot to mention i had tried the CMOS reset button on the board.

Oh this is going to be a chew on, everything is under water, board, ram, gpu, cpu etc.

Oh well. Operation full loop de commission starts tomorrow night.:(

Then I can try individual components.

Need an air cooler now lol

This is probably gonna sound stupid to a lot of you guys but would a dead CMOS battery stop the pc from turning on?

It's a possibility, I have had some unusual behaviour before with dead/dropped voltage CMOS batteries. Nothing identical to your problem but it's worth a shot.
