hey guys so basically i am getting the 3080 soon and want to upgrade from 1080p to 1440p.

1. is there a drastic difference between 1440p and 4k? i was gonna go 4k but my friends say there is no point and its very expensive i would be able to spend more money on a new cpu and ram if i dont go 4k.

2. i am looking at 2 monitors i like the look of, one is more expensive than the other but i honestly cannot tell the difference between the 2, except one is a lot more expensive!!!

SAMSUNG LC32HG70QQUXEN Quad HD 32" Curved QLED Gaming Monitor

SAMSUNG LC32JG56QQUXEN

would someone please people to help me out a little bit in choosing the right one or even suggesting any others :)

many thanks guys!!! :)

Your friend is right. Playing at 4k at 144 fps or more is demanding. That is why playing at 3440x1440 or 2560x1440 is more mainstream as less demanding.

Concerning your seconde question... I cannot say.
Not a specialist of 32 inch monitor.

GPU power demand is directly related to comparing 3840 multiplied by 2160 against 2560 multiplied by 1440.

Out of those monitors first one has wide colour gamut meaning it's capable to showing brighter purer colours. (+ supports 10 bit colours)
While the latter is old smallest common denominator sRGB colour space monitor with standard 8 bit colours supported.

As VAs they have highest contrast of LCD types giving best looking image in darker room.
But apparently response times of that generation panels aren't good at lower than max rafresh rates and half pixel structure causes issues with text clarity.
