I'm just wondering with all the conroe's and cheap 939 and AM2 CPU's that are out there, what are people going for mostly?

I'd really love to get a new PC for gaming but I'm unsure which way to go.

And can someone please explain what DDR2 speeds I would need to use if I was planning on a Conroe system or AM2 system for that matter...

I was definitely wanting a HIS X1900XT maybe not the XT-X cos I think you could overclock the memory that little more to gain the XT-X speeds (saving £80 in the process?) but anything else is a complete mistery!!

Any help will be greatfully recieved :)

At the moment I have a XP1600 system which I just use for internet and storage...

Any suggestions on a gaming rig? I have a Coolermaster Stacker (older one) OC Z PSU (520W), Raptor 74gig and a few optical drives...

Any suggestions?

Nothing as such... :D

Just something that's gonna last and I'm gonna notice a huge speed increase with :)

Was thinking of a E6600 with the HIS X1900XT/-X card, so something in that way of performance... :)

Sounds like a plan, when with the newer cards be making an apperence?

I really dont know what board or memory to go with so has anyone got any advice on that? I was think, Abit, DFI and for the memory, OC Z... Its what I normally would use...

At the price difference I think the XT is just begging to be clocked!!

Shame I got to save up for my damn car instead!! :(

Ideal :)

Could you explain the idea behind all the DDR2 speeds? If its 266fsb, would it need something faster or something? I've been seeing speeds of PC8500 or something? worth the money or a waste?

Does anyone have any idea's when the directx 10 is about to come out? Is that meant to come out with Longhorn or something?
