Got abit of a dilema here and will explain as much as possible, please forgive me as i am not to technical when it comes to computers.
i have 2 hdd's
1 solid state (64 gig) = hdd 1
1 norm (1 terrabyte) = hdd 2
okay so my operating system is installed on hdd1 and everything else on hdd2 now its been fine for over a year and just suddenly hdd1 stopped working i was lead to believe it had died a horrible death
so for the time being i have installed my os (windows 7) on hdd2 until i could get a replacement.
On loading my computer i get a screen that says the computer as recognised 2 versions of windows installed both being windows 7 the first one loads fine which is the new version but the second displays a error message "cannot find boot.exe" further more on loading the new os i see that hdd1 has been picked up and can access it as normal so i did a test, i removed hdd2 and started the computer to find it booted okay. but on putting hdd2 back in i got the same problem as before.
Any help in this matter would be greatful more so if it doesnt involve formatting both hdd's
If you would require more information please ask.
