I just had one of these scam calls this morning. Seem to be a lot of it going around at the moment?

Me: "Hello"
Scammer: *5 seconds later* "He...Hello"
Me: "Hello"
Scammer: *5 seconds later* "He...Hello"
Me: "Hello"
Scammer: *5 seconds later* "He...Hello" *now with increased echo*
Me: "Hello" *I hear myself say hello several times as the long distance call probably from some mobile phone on a foreign island echoes"
Scammer: "mumble mumble Linda and I am calling from Microsoft"
Me: "OK"
Scammer: "I am calling about the computer you are using in the house"
Me: Oh the mac? *I don't own a mac
Scammer: EhYays *yes* we will need to help you remove some virus coming from your computer, is it on now?
Me: "no"
Scammer: "Ok turn it on please"
Me: "no sorry"
Scammer: "Ehyays"
Me: "err no"
Scammer: "Ehyays"
Me: "no it's not on"
Scammer: "Sir please turn on the computer"
Me: "ok, ok, which one?"
Scammer: "All please sir, they are all infected"
Me: "OK I have about 4 laptops and 2 desktops hang on a minute..."

No joke of a lie, I went back to the kitchen 20 minutes later to get a cuppa and forgot I left the phone on, I picked it up and she was still there lol.

Me: "Hello?"
Scammer: "Hello sir are you ready now"
Me: "Err yeah they are all on now"
Scammer: "I can see the traffic immediately"
Me: "Oh dear that bad?"
Scammer: "Ehyays"
Me: "Ok so what do I do, do you need my credit card?"
Scammer: "no no sir, never give out your credit card details, you must follow my instructions to go online and download the correct patches to get rid of this problem on each computer"
Me: "Oh ok. Let me just get the door....."

This time I went for half hour and came back and she was gone....damn. Pushed her too far.

How on earth do they get my ****** number?

Yeah I had to brief the Mrs incase they call back bless her as she would probably bite. :(
Apparently they have been known to phone pretending to be your ISP as well.

I didn't record it unfortunately no. I was semi getting ready to go out and sorting other stuff out so didn't really have the time to wind them up extensively. How does one go about recording calls on a landline? What is an easy way? I'd like to do this for when I speak to some of the incompetent CS desks for various things from time to time like my ISP.
