1st post so please be gentle! I have the xfx hd6970 card, with a accelero hybrid cooler. I was wanting to know good options for a upgrade. I have considered adding a 2nd 6970, as from hwbenchmarks site, it doesn't look like there is much out there that is better for any reasonable price. Im talking sub £200. But heard with 2 cards, you get micro stuttering issues. Thoughts?

Ok, No they dont make 6970 anymore of course, as florian said, I was looking used for around the £100 mark but that of course leaves it open to breaking in no time at all. My card has been incredibly reliable though, and I run most games on full with little issue.

Yeah, that looks a bit better than mine. And for that price point with the games, I can't really grumble! Next up then, sell my card and get some pennies together for a 280x!

Sorry for double post, but I'm just thinking. I'm about to buy the ROG hero vii to replace my mobo. Would I be better off just getting the new card in terms of gaming performance? My setup is

Corsair carbide 450 air Case
i5 4670k
Gelid tranquillo cpu cooler
msi h81m (terrible board, was on a budget!)
xfx 6970 w/ accelero hybrid cooler
8gb corsair XMS ram
256gb samsung evo 840 ssd
1.5tb seagate hdd

I'm just thinking my board is no good for OC'ing, which is what my cpu is made for. The ram also has this issue. The board doesn't support much. So this was my main concern. But now I'm thinking the GPU would boost FPS in a major way...
