Built a i5 4690k build a few months ago. Unfortunately I had to trade it in for a lawnmower... Stupid but mistakes are done all the time.

I now want to get another one, I know skylake has just recently been released.. Is it worth sticking with the old 4690k or upgrade to skylake and Ddr4? I'd like to keep costs down as much as possible, but make it easily upgradable. Ideally I want Micro ATX. I don't mind Window. I definitely want PSU in its own compartment. Like Source 340. Needs to be as silent as possible. Needs excellent airflow, preferably AIO watercooler to start.. Possibly expanding to custom water system.

~£800 for main build.

I'll get accessories seperatly

Kind regards
Michael

A lawn mower? But can it run Crysis... ;) :)

Skylake is too expensive right now and Haswell still has a lot of life left.

Also you say m-ATX which is fine but will look swamped in a Source 340 which is for full sized boards.

I'll spec something up for you.

Well I had the s340, I just want something that has a seperation compartment for the PSU ( if it's windowed ).

If it isn't windowed ain't nobody gonna see it are they haha..

The lawnmower runs just barely runs delta force..... lol

Thanks for that. Case is a definite. Ticks all my boxes. However, a lot of black components +Dust! I know you can't get away from dust... Hopefully the filters are bloody good!

I'll definitely be going for two SSD in raid unless 500 ones are cheaper, last time I had 120gb and prior to that 60gb... Bloody nightmare.

I'd you change dye, seal is broken and warranty is void? Or has it changed. ?

I last used Kraken x31( very good) would prefer x41 if it fits!

The warranty issue isn't really an issue. From the product page:

Removal of the Warranty Void sticker will only void your warranty if signs of misuse or excessive modification is detected

Sounds like you have plans, but I wonder whether the budget needs expanding for what you're planning?

Well, ideally I want to keep it closer to 800 than 900 to be quite honest..

Triton cools well? What temperature are you getting? Are you running stock fans? Are you using it as intake to exhaust?

250 SSD will be suitable for the time being.

Cools very well. Idles mid/high 20s, at load around mid 40s.

Replaced stock fans, mainly for the look.

Just took a picture now so you can see. It's housed in an NZXT H440

Well of course it's worth considering :), depends if you're limited by budget though as you'll get less gaming performance per pound spent with Skylake than Haswell, but you do get longevity.
