Just curious: Can you put the PC into hibernate whilst say, burning a DVD/CD?

How about sleep mode? Could you leave eMule to download stuff safely while in sleep?

Nope, won't work. Standby, Hibernate etc are only intended to be used if the PC is going to be idle.

Reason I asked: Power went the other day & when it came back it did not on the socket the system is plugged-in. Was converting a video at the time therefore the UPS battery was quickly drained putting the PC into hibernate. When I came back & sorted the problem out, the system came out of hibernation & continued on the task like nothing had happened.

Hence the curiosity, what else the PC can safely 'pause' to go into hibernation
