I'm looking to bulk purchase some HID kits, have any of you fitted aftermarket HID lights before?

Any brands to avoid? I've been offered them at ~£160 a set, does that seem like a good price?

I think he means on country roads people will see your beam well before approaching them, so they are aware of your presence.

Partly that, I also drive around in the daytime with all my front lights on. As you're no doubt aware, anything that helps people see our low little cars is worth doing :).

Yeah, I don't in daylight but put them on as soon as it gets even remotely dull.

Oooh, look what has arrived ;)

They just replace whatever bulbs are in your car.

I got 10x H1, 2x H7, 1x H4

The H4s are either HID/Halogen or bi-xenon.

I've fitted main beam and dipped beam to my car. It's only really getting dark now, but they are extremely bright and look very cool.

Me: Just turned them on, are they bright?

Dad: I don't know, I can't see anything other than a scorching white light :p

Extremely pleased with them, it is quite literally night and day. You can see so much further, can drive massively faster at night. I really like the main beam, so glad I went for that one too.

I should add it is extremely difficult to photograph the whole effect, it's difficult to even look straight at them from a few yards away in the dark, let alone take a photo.

My thoughts exactly - it's a rather curious loophole in the law that manufacturers MUST have headlight washers and self levelling for safety reasons yet you can bodge them onto your Saxo and legally drive around blinding oncoming traffic..

To be honest, that's a non issue, they are aligned just like halogen bulbs and are MOT tested. Only the brightness changes, not the alignment to any appreciable extent.

muncher can you say where you got the kit you used from ?

the increase in light does look immense !

I don't know the name of the manufacturer to be honest, could ask my mate to stick you down if he imports any more or has some left I guess.
