I wouldn't want HID on the main beam unless it's a mechanical shutter. It takes a second or so for the HID lamp to get up to full brightness and so having a separate bulb for main beam as HID is a bit of a problem.
I did it when I had my Tiger 1050 and it was a pain so I swapped the main beam back to halogen and left the dip as HID.
