For some reason I cannot unhide the hidden folders and files.

Done the normal control panel> Appearance and Personalisation > Show hidden files and folders. Set option to true and apply then OK and nothing happens. Folders are still hidden.

Trying from the ribbon in explorer I select "hidden" and it ticks refreshes and unticks itself .

Edit: should also add I've tried editing the registry and flipped the bit but it just resets itself upon close.

Virus/malware scans are clean.

Any ideas? I am lost for a change :(.

What did MBAM find?

Nothing.

It missed something running in the temp area. "zorker.pmt" Killed it via task manager and magically I was able to show hidden folders again(never even heard of a pmt file).

Just removed it from the temp files once I could get in.

Nothing appears in google for it. Either it changes its name each time or I've been a test case for it :D.

Its obfuscated so cant see what it was doing. Just sent it to MBAM hopefully they can work out what it is and detect it in future.

Right it's back :(.

I yet again cannot access my hidden folders. However this time I cannot find anything that could be causing it.

Both MBAM and bitdefender show nothing wrong.

Haven't used the Internet since last time so definitly haven't downloaded anything nor seen any dodgy ads.

Any ideas? :(

Full drive scan using MBAM in safemode with networking. Don't forget to update the definitions.
