Hiding favorites from a dialogue box Windows XP - Server 2003

Hi guys,

Is it possible hide/remove the favorites tab from the normal folder window on a windows xp client connected to a 2003 server? It seems to provide a backdoor into internet explorer on my network - despite iexplore.exe being prohibited in group policy
