The brief is my aunt is visiting with her two PC-literate kids. I can get rid of my browser history but is there a way to "hide" a directory in Windows 7 so that it can't be seen without a password?

Must be something you can do, to make it look like its broke.

Can't be that hard, or just delete your porn all together. Set up their own account so they can't see your browsing history and in future use private browsing when visiting naughty sites.

Simples.

The browsing history I can fix. I just need to password-protect or hide a drive. This has to be a common problem for everyone here, surely?

A whole drive?

How long are the kids up for? Disconnect it? Unless its a partition, id imagine there is freeware for that somewhere.

Why not make your user profile private and then set up another account for the kids? They won't be able to see what's in your profile.

"Well kids, sometimes I like to get my freak on, one on one style. You understand me? It's like a sickness I need to purge, a fire that needs put out, a thirst that need slaking. Don't go into [directory]. You wouldn't like it."

That should do it.

The alternative is to make a folder with your weirdest video's in it, let them watch one. They'll not go through 'weird uncle' BillHicksRIP folders again!

Who downloads porn these days anyways... thought we all stream it now.

I was just about to ask this. Why does anyone even need to download the blue stuff to their PC? It must be seriously 'niche'. Streaming is much easier to hide, surely?

Transfer to your porn to your documents file? Then password your account as adminstrator, and allow them access to a standard non-passworded account?
