As some of you may be aware, the standard lights on a 205 are shocking.

So, I'm wanting to upgrade the lights on my car, because lights are one of the things I want to have. Good lights at that.

Where would I be able to get HID light replacement kits/sets from?

Thanks :)

I'd be interested to know how this turns out. I've got the MOT this month and quite frankly I've no idea how mine passed last year with the headlights. They're bloody horrendous.

Headlight regs are shocking really. My 100E used to pass with rusted reflectors and about as much light as a candle :D

Are there no aftermarket light clusters you can use because for the classics you can get a halogen conversion and what they refer to a quadoptic lens which is an improved beam pattern. It really makes a big difference.

I think there was a post about this on forum.205gtidrivers.com

I think they worked out about ~£400 for the pair! and did not really suit the car.

Just get some new OE Valeo ones from GSF for about £40.

Just get some decent replacement bulbs, spending half the value of your car on new lights is a little daft IMHO.

The kit would be transferable though, so its not really specific to the car. I don't think its daft, i want to see where i'm going! :p

There's plenty of good HID kits on Ebay for <£90 (same as the ones that Muncher bought which are apparently pretty good)

I have just upgraded mine on my leon for some off ebay, 13.00 for all of them and the difference is amazing, bit of nightmare to fit the sidelights and i manged to drop one into the bottom of the engine bay but for just over a tenner its a very worthwhile upgrade as the standard yellow tatt lights are terrible.

You have simply bought new bulbs, HID's are not £13 replacement bulbs from Ebay, do not believe the hype.

Yeah, I bought something similar for my car as I wanted a 'whiter' light. The ebay 'xenon' bulbs I got actually performed WORSE than my original bulbs and are actually dangerous in my opinion. Some of the normal clear 'xenon' filled bulbs are supposed to be brighter, but avoid any that are blue or silver if you ask me.

I've got a set of HIDs on my car - they really are very very good.

Now i get a chance to ask you questions to which you know the answers, which kit, how much, how do i buy, it is it easy to fit, did you fit it? :p

I can guarantee that no lights can be worse the the corrados headlights, they loose 2v between the battery and the headlight. We have to make or buy a new wiring loom for them and then fit it, pain in the ass job!!

I know nothing about HID kits so please enlighten me!

If it fit them to my rado would i still have to uprate the wiring loom or do the kitscome with a new loom?
