Whats the best way to connect my hifi to my pc. Both are quite new, so I imagine I have the best ports available. My PC uses a X-fi card.

Aux out on hi-fi to line-in on sound card? Will need a phono to 3.5mm audio lead for that.

Or if you dont have aux out on hi-fi then use the headphone socket. For that you'll need a 3.5mm - 3.5mm lead, male both ends obviously.:)

I just use, like Smithy says, a cable which is 3.5mm jack -> x2 phono.

The phono's go in the back of the amp and the 3.5mm jack goes into the front speaker connection on the X-Fi. 2nd in from the end iirc.

Are you trying to record from your hi-fi onto you X-Fi are are you just trying to listen to pc mp3s on you hifi? Your original post doesn't make it too clear.

Either way, as the other guys have said, get a 3.5mm jack to phono cable. Try and get a decent quality one from a hi-fi store as it really does make a big difference over cheapo thin cables.

Only way i can think of is going from the headphone socket on your tv into the aux-in socket on your hi-fi. Again, you'll need a 3.5mm - phono lead.

Its to play MP3 mostly, from PC on Hi-FI speakers.
Same story with you, except you'll want to go from the line out on your sound card to the aux-in on your hi-fi.
