I'm hoping someone can put my mind at rest.

I bought a 580w Hiper the other day and after installing it I booted, looked in the bios and the 12v was @ 12.28v

This was with everything at stock and the weight of the hardware power balanced over the psu.

When I overclocked the cpu it jumped to 12.35v. Now I know that there is 10% headroom you have to give on psu's but isnt this a little too high?

When I stress the system on Orthos, the vcore hits 1.31v which is cool but the 12v only drops to 12.29v.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks :)

check hiper's website they say the purposley keep the rails a littler higher than thier actual rating. its a good thing since when the rails are loaded up they drop a tiny bit but still end up above 12v.

Thanks guys :)

I did check voltages in bios, everest and speedfan and they all reported the same voltages.

Nice to have a PSU that doesnt drop to 11.94v when under load :)

Again, many thanks.
