High CPU Core Voltage (stock settings)

Mine is 1.22v at stock, yours sounds perfectly reasonable.

Have you solved the issues with the crashing yet?

i thought so, i loaded BF1 up - complete freeze after about 2 minutes :(

i checked out the xmp profile and the ram voltage is already at 1.65v. I've no idea what to do to fix the problem :(

is this likely to be related to ram or the cpu

set ram to 1600MHz, @ 1.65v just for testing.

But dont leave it like that, we will get it running right in the end.

Sorry Brazo I'm a complete novice, I have no idea what (or where) load line calibration is. Is this something I'd find in the BIOS?

I presume the cpu input voltage is the entry labelled VIN1 on hwmon(?) - 2.004v

If it's been running at 1.4V and 90C+ for nearly two years the chip might have degraded, the rapid temperature changes you were referring to sounds like throttling kicking in.

Have you inspected your motherboard for any burned out VRM's or anything?

@mmj_uk it sounds like it might have, but until i noticed the high temps and changed the voltage it has been rock solid for 2 years (despite the high temps) - never experienced a crash. also it appears to idle nice and cool, and only reaches those high temps under intense load so i'm hoping it's not completely toast. i've inspected the motherboard but don't see any signs of damage to anything in there (though in all honesty i'm not entirely sure what to look for)

here's a screenshot from hwmonitor, you'll probably be able to get answers to any questions that i haven't answered yet:

If the cpu had degraded (and I'm not saying it has) then you wouldn't see any physical signs of it, just that it would take more volts to run a given clockspeed than before it was degraded...

i'm wondering whether or not this will be covered by warranty. apparently the cpu comes with a 3 year overclockers.co.uk warranty, whether the fact that i bought it as part of a bundle will affect it i don't know.

just fyi this is the bundle i bought in November 2014: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/hard...-teamgroup-2133mhz-ram-superfl-bu-014-gi.html

what would be the best thing to do next? just keep increasing the voltage to the cpu until it's stable, and then wait for it to [eventually] die?

will do, presumably you just want the cpu info from there?

Everything to do with CPU, Memory and further down motherboard section too (it will repeat a few CPU readings there). You can ignore drives and GPU section. It'll be two or three screenshots total, I reckon. Cheers.
