High CPU temp since flashing BIOS

Hi guys,

When I first built my new machine, I was getting a CPU temp of ~30ºc in the BIOS of an Asus P5K-Pro.

Installed Windows and flashed using the Asus utility.

Rebooted the system and went into the BIOS for something and noticed the CPU temp being reported as over 50ºc.

The Asus PCProbe tool reports the same, SpeedFan reports another temp and CoreTemp reports yet another temp.

I'm using water and the radiator and all pipework is cool to the touch so tbh, I don't believe any of them.

Does anyone else suffer from this?

Cheers roadie.

I've just done a bit of searching and it does seem to be a common problem with the E8 CPUs.

Just read this thread and downloaded RealTemp.

It's giving me a much more realistic (and quite impressive) temperature of 35ºc

That's OC'd to 3.2GHz and with the rad fan set to the lowest speed.

It's susposed to be the most accurate, tho I haven't used it.

Core Temp is the most commonly used, so it's good for comparing temps from other peoples set-ups.
