I've seen demo stuff for download on Microsoft's site, but haven't really searched for anything else yet. Weren't the big studios talking at some point about making movies available for download?..at a price obviously.

ah so the high deff stuff atm is just for when you get yourself a blu-ray - hd-dvd plugged into it ?

High definition content is all about what resolution the source file is in. So 720p content is just content with 720 vertical lines, typically a resolution of 1280 x 768. You will start to see DVD's with this kind of resolution, and beyond that with 1080 vertical lines for 1080i/p content. So yes, you can play "HD" content on your screen, you just need a source with that resolution. MS have videos on their site here and there's plenty of HD movie trailers on Apple's website for example.

One thing to note, the resolution of the Samsung 215TW is 1680 x 1050, so it doesnt quite have the vertical resolution to show a full 1080 vertical lines. 720p content (720 lines) would do fine (given that it would have borders top and bottom anyway in most cases) and 1080i/p content would just be scaled down slightly at some point.
