Hiyahh! :D

I hope this aint a silly question...!

I have a Media Center PC... And it does what i want it too nicely! Plays all my media nice and quick!

Thing is... i just got a 32" HDTV and wish to use it with it :)

What exactly do i need... or do i only need the codec and high def files?

Thanks! :D

Craig!!

VLC doesn't require any codecs and will play HD files. However you might find some jitters here and there. You can change the one of the FFmpeg codec options in VLC's menu "skip the loop filter for h.264 decoding" to "all" and it will play perfectly fine on pretty much any c2d.

So i dont need to get anything special...?

I have been using RGB to connect my media center... will HD work through that ok? I also have a VGA port on the Tv? I dunno what to use lol!

Oh sorry, didn't realise you wasn't sure about connecting it up. I would use the VGA port to connect it to your TV, it will still be "HD" as its using the correct resolution for your HD (presumably) TV?

Not too sure about much to be honest :P

Thanks tho...! Im sure it was using a port that looked kinda ps2ish lol... and had svideo connected too...!

But ill now use the VGA one and connect the sound up too...!

Cheers! :) Ill be messin about seein what kinda quality i can get! hehe

I take it your TV has HDMI? If you have a spare port, you could get a HDMI -> DVI cable and use that if your worried, but I am sure VGA will look just fine.

Yeah it does :)

Thought about that... but it seems that VGA is running pretty good!

Kicked about in a game (SOF2), colours and everything seem very nice! Media center is nice and crisp... only downfal is the quality of files i have...! DVD playback seems nice too... overall very happy! :D
