high end card-monitor rez question

would it be pointless buying a 5870x2 for a 23" monitor @ 1920x1080.

i know they are not released yet but just wondering if this card would only really shine away at higher rez monitors like 30" onwards

should i just go for a 5870? can't wait for the gt300 now as i plan on having my build done within the next 8 weeks.

A 5850 might be the best choice at the moment, then another to crossfire when the prices have come down?

They'll be good for 1920x1200/1080.

It all depends on how long you keep your card for. If you upgrade regulary then no but if you keep you gc for more than a year i would say to go for an x2. It might (not know yet) blaze through all games out at the momement and carry on giving good performance with newer titles as they come along.
