Hello i'm in the process of building a high spec gaming pc and would like your review on the system:

Would really appreciate some feedback and suggestions about the system as well as some case suggestions.

The case im thinking of adding is a Coolermaster RC-1000 Cosmos

between f3 and caviar black - I'd go for WD CB,
and if you won't use eyefinity, I'd say hd5870 be ott.

You can always add another 5850 if needed in the future I personally think its not worth doing crossfire atm.

Really nice guys thanks. I really like like monkeykings "second" post with the two 5850's but wouldnt it be better if i stayes with just one 5870 and have a much better chance in doubling with a second 5870 instead when needed and when they get cheaper?

As for the PSU will Corsair 750w be enough for crossfire and two 5850's?
Another thing i dont really like about doing crossfire is the fact that it will somehow increase heat and thats a matter i really want to avoid since i live in Cyprus and the temperatures here are really not so cool as elsewhere.

As for dust filters are there any on the case you suggested?

Again thanks a lot

If you go with my setup that I posted (last one) and just change it to a 5870 then you will have very cool machine (heat wise).

The TX 850W is much better value than the HX model all the HX does is make the 6 pin and 8 pin cables removable which sint worth the extra £40.

The Antec 902 case has 2 in take fans with dust filters and 1 big exhaust on top and one exhaust at the back and the see through panel has an optional slot for another exhaust fan and it also has a dust filter.

thnx matt. I didnt know that about the tx 850 w and will most definitely switch the PSU to the TX one.

As for the case i really liked the Antec 902 as well when researching about a good case but the problem is that the case is one of the two things i'm buying locally and not from abroad, and for some reason it's really hard to find it here. In general i cant find many Antec cases opposed to Coolermaster ones that can be found here easily.

As for the CPU cooler you suggested it seems to me that it costs the same as the H-50 water cooler... isn't a water cooled solution better since price is the same?

About £60 cheaper, the board here will overclock to 4.2ghz apprently with the ram and cpu,
got your 1tb hdd, good cooling solution, and the Radeon 5970 the most power graphics solution available at this present time, also the motherboard has other PCEe x16 slots available
so maybe a crossfire one day maybe.

Noctua > Thermalright Venomous-X > Corsair H-50

The Noctua air cooler is probably one of the best air coolers out there and is mujch mroe reliable and gives better cooling than the H-50. I would be surprised that the H-50 will last you 3+ years. Where as the Noctua D14 is a solid block of metal so it will aslt donkey years.

Well i've finally decided on most components. What's concerning me more right now is the case.

I've found the CM690ii at a decent price and really liked it but would like to know if i will have any problems in fitting a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Motherboard, with an i7 processor and a 5870 graphics card in it.

Another thing im concerned about is the PSU since i found a Coolermaster Silent Pro at 850w and was wondering whether it will be a better addition over a Corsair TX850w and a lower price for me.

it'll fit considering i can fit a 5970 in a standard cm690

Thanks guys. As for the PSU the problem is that antec is excluded as i cant find anything from them over here and i've already ordered most of the parts im buying from OcuK.

My options at that price range are CORSAIR TX950W / Coolermaster Silent Pro 850w and CORSAIR HX850W.

The Corsair TX950W is also at a very good price and cheaper than the other two. What are your thoughts on these three and which one would you choose?
Prices are TX950w < CM 850w < HX850w
