On high ettings all im getting is stuttering and slow downs.. is this normal? On medium i can run it without it dropping below 60 and no stuttering >< I have no programs running in the background etc

p.s i have the original witcher with the update to enchanced edition patch.

No problems here maxed out (updated here too). Any issues with other games?

yeah a few (mostly mmo's) But dragon age origins,Bf2 mostly new games are fine(no stuttering just slow downs in populated areas) Its mostly older games im noticing problems on tbh.

cities XL is rather stuttery/jerky tho. I have run tests on everything and everything is running fine (no errors) memtests, gpu tests, cpu tests etc.

btw I'm not sure stutter is the right word. When your running along the graphics slightly..shudder.. Mayeb stutter is the right word. It only happends for like 10th of a second (maybe less) but it REALLY drives you crazy after a while.

What drivers are you using? I've recently rolled back to Catalyst 10.4a as I had nothing but trouble with later ones. 10.5-10.7 were causing the kind of stuttering you are describing on my computer whilst playing Just Cause 2 and Fallen Earth (The games I was playing at the time of the problem. Could have effected everything for all I know). Rolling back fixed it.

That's 10.7. I had nothing but problems with it. Stuttering in games where there was no stuttering before and even games not working at all! Rolled back to 10.4 and all was well. Might be worth giving it a try.

I have everything on full but got stuttering. I dropped the AA setting by 1 place and it runs smooth as silk.

oKAY NOW IM p'ED OFF >< This is whats happend so far
games been stuttering.. i set settings to medium they stopped.. i put the settinsg on high and THEN underclocked my cpu to 3.2.The stutters became better but were still there.. i changed drivers to 10.4 and the stutters became worse.. so i overclocked my cpu ocne again and the stutters have become even WORSE than they were originally >< lmao so ive had it. Im uninstalling. thanks guys for your help anyway :)

Had the same problem never got around to play due to the stuttering :(

Something I noticed with my copy of The Witcher - when I adjusted 3D settings in Catalyst Control Centre, the game frame rate fell drastically. Soon as I reverted all the options to use 'in game settings', the game started running smoothly. This is on 5770 using 10.7 drivers.
