High End resin printing (Formlabs)

Honestly their printers are not for regular consumers more for industry.

- Higher cost for printer with tech that’s years behind, they only released a SLA printer with an LCD a few months ago.. before that they insisted on using lasers to their detriment. Then the LCD they have in the latest form 4 isn’t even that good at 50um pixel size.

- You are locked into their proprietary high cost resins. Unless you buy a “open material license” from them which costs between $2k-$4k. Not kidding..

- They have a habit of discontinuing resins/materials for older printers. If you buy a printer now you might find it hard to find resin in 5+ years time.

- Then there’s the entire Micron situation. People are mad about that. Buying over a small SLS company that was going to bring affordable SLS printing to people then cancelling the Kickstarter campaign.

If your looking at a washing solution I’ve seen some YouTube videos on heygears and they seem good.

That is an interesting comment.
I would not expect Formlabs to be a primary choice for home users either, however surely its not as bad?

We have acquired a Form 4 at work and the default option of washing with IPA is a hard sell, so I am interested in the experience with alternatives. Formlabs apparently have 'endorsed' TPM however the workflow is a bit different. I am mainly interested in end result quality.
