Hello,

I'm looking at this Ultima Formula SLi 8800 GTX" Intel Core 2 Quadro QX9650 3.00GHz Quad Core SILENT DDR2 System and it shows in the specs, it has a "Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty Professional Sound Card".

However, on the ULTIMA PAGE, it says: "Onboard 7.1 Audio", - and doesn't mention the Sound card at all. I'm assuming you would get the sound card for this price:eek: - but assumtions can cost dearly:)

Also, re: sound card. Well, as this is an SLI system, With a sound card (assuming), could I fit a SECOND sound card (I have a E-MU 0404 Audio card that i use for music/software/cubase etc), as with "SLI-configured" and with a pci sound card, I was wondering if i may actually be able to get another PCI card in at all.

TIA

I rather suspect it will come with the soundcard but like you say for the price you don't want to be taking chances so I'd suggest either giving them a quick ring or send them a webnote to confirm it. They will be happy to answer I'm sure.

The motherboard is the Asus Striker II so unless the other card you want to fit is PCI-E 1x then no, the two soundcards would take up all available PCI slots. I'm not entirely sure whether two soundcards would conflict anyway so you might end up removing the X-Fi regardless.

OK, Thanks. My Card is of the "old" normal PCI (it is in a NEO-4 K8N MOBO/PC at the monent) so doesn't look like I can get that in.... :(

Go to the manufacturers website (of the motherboard) and try to look at enlarged diagrams or photos of it. You may find some indication of whether there is more than one PCI slot - and whether you can use all of them due to graphics cards often taking up two these days.

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered it last night:)

Anyway, i was wondering what PC-E Slots the GTX8800's will be in, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/pimg/MB-260-AS_400.jpg

Looking at the picture above left to right: Blue to Blue (1 and 3) or White/Blue (2 and 3), if the latter, then i may be able to get two Sound cards in, not sure though. Also, is it important that "TWO" GFX cards in this Striker Mobo have to go in certain pc-e slots,(2.0 or something) or will any permutation do? and what is this "supremeFX II sound card" i hear of, that is bundled with this MOBO? (that goes in the small pci slots i understand).

Thanks

~Ant
